Our client is the largest in Europe manufacturer of drug products and active pharmaceutical ingredients. The Co. specialize in manufacturing cardio, gastrological and neurological drugs, prescribed and used in inpatient healthcare as well as wide range of OTC drugs.

For its Russian subsidiary the Co. is opening new position

Head of Business Development Department

Role profile: Reporting directly to the Vice-President, the Head of BD Department will be responsible for creating and executing the new business opportunities to support the Company growth by bringing new products, by acquiring intangible assets and by creating alliances that support Russia and CIS markets.

Accountabilities:
• Identifying new business opportunities (product acquisitions, jvs, etc.), systematically screening new business opportunities and bring the valuable proposals to foster business growth, identifying out of the box business opportunities
• Establishing external partnerships/alliances, Creating a valuable network within existing business environment and establish effective cooperation with start up and related businesses
• evaluation and continues monitoring of profitability of contracts, on-going renegotiations of contract terms based on the contract profitability and existing competitive offers
• Recommendation of controlling measures in case of change of initial product strategy (e. g. unforeseeable market changes, competitive environment, country interests, launch delay etc.)
• leading the process of transforming market trends into the product through active participation in the pipeline committee activities;
• Establishing and communicating goals and objectives, define methodologies, tasks, activities and clearly define roles and responsibilities within the department.
• directing professional and personal development of staff members at all levels
• ensuring financial and budget expectations for function are met
• ensuring global collaboration and best practice sharing and implementation in all relevant areas motivating and developing the team with emphasis put on joint work, knowledge sharing and creating the common goals for the pipeline organization;

Qualifications required:
• Pharma related studies, additional advanced degree in business administration, finance, and/or marketing
• Fluent English, Russian as an advantage
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
• Direct experience in business development function, Business acumen
• Work in international and multidisciplinary environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-confident, Out of box thinking, Strategic thinking
• Creative, have a solid record of developing successful relationships with business partners in generic industry
• Possess strong leadership and people management skills that focus on teamwork and building alliances/networking
• Be familiar with the appropriate regulations in the Industry
• Have a strong result driven personality, good decision maker, High level of enthusiasm
• Public speaking and communication skills are essential
